Masonry Institute of Maryland

The Masonry Institute of Maryland, Inc. (MIMI) is a trade organization serving the construction industry, architectural and engineering professions, and consumers including homeowners. MIMI provides information about masonry standards, finishes and recommended practices.

Our organization was established in 1972 as the Brick Institute of Maryland. In 1973, recognizing a broader scope of interest and purpose, we changed our name to the Masonry Institute of Maryland, Inc. also referred to as MIMI.

Our mission is to improve and extend the use of masonry by promoting new ideas, offering technical information and resources and serving as a liaison between contractors, engineers, architects and the public.

Throughout the year, the Masonry Institute of Maryland facilitates an exchange of information among our members and guests in the effort to enrich and improve the quality of life in Maryland and enhance the masonry industry. Annual activities include Masonry Design Day, our Annual Awards Banquet, Lunch and Dinner meetings, sponsorship of the Maryland State SkillsUSA competition and, of course our exceptional Bull & Oyster Roast as well as our Golf Outing.

Our membership is comprised of union and non-union masonry contractors, suppliers, distributors and manufacturers of masonry products and professionals such as architects, engineers and owners. If you wish to receive information about becoming a member of MIMI, contact Joyce Greer at the Masonry Institute of Maryland, PO Box 294, Callao, VA. 22435 or phone: 410-382-6851 (Fax: 804-529-5351).
